What does this painting mean to me?
Bodies are constantly changing their shape and form - especially women’s bodies. Depending on factors like our nutrition, the time of the day, and what phase of our cycle we’re in, our bodies change. Our boobs sag one day and pop another, our bellies are flat one dat and bloated another. As women we are taught to strive for that “perfect” body at all times - “suck your belly in”, “wear a bra”! Let’s break these boundaries and celebrate our bodies in all their states. A bloated body is beautiful. Hanging boobs are beautiful. Double chins ARE BEAUTIFUL!
To each individual print there is added the text “Same Body Different Day” using old printing press letter blocks.
