Join the "People" project!

Submit a photo of yourself to be a part of Franziska Meszar's "People" - a painting series celebrating realness and unique human beauty.

Why did I create the “People” project?

Many of us are riddled with self-consciousness. We're telling ourselves that we look weird, ugly, too this, too that.... Yet, our unique features make us who we are. We are beautiful because we all look different.

When I first saw myself painted naked, my body image improved immensely. I stopped seeing my body in terms of the beauty standards that have been anchored in our brains. Instead, all I saw was an accumulation of lines and shapes that have been filled with a beautiful array of structure, light and colour. And the same happened when I painted my first self-portraits. Instead of seeing my "bad" features, I saw a beautiful collection of shapes and colours that lit up my face (both on the painting and in real life). This was such a unique and cathartic experience which I continue to benefit from, and I would like nothing more but to bring this feeling to you, too!

So, be part of this project: "People". A painting series where I paint you, the people, to capture your uniqueness and help you appreciate your own beauty. I want to capture real faces, real bodies, real skin, real emotions, real features - real people.

I'm looking for volunteers to send me their photos, which I may, then, use as reference pictures for this series. Please submit a photo of your face or body.
